Diagnosis of sickle cell disease (any genotype) - but not sickle cell trait

• Age 16 years or over

• Patient has given informed consent

• Reasonable expectation that patient will continue to have ongoing follow-up at the recruiting hospital

• Individual is a patient at one of the participating sites:

  • Guys & St. Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust

  • Kings College University Hospital (Denmark Hill)

  • Lewisham & Greenwich (University Hospital Lewisham)

  • Nottingham University Hospital

  • Manchester Royal Infirmary
